We have not one but two MASSIVE bands bringing the funk this Friday 11th of November - Dërty Bërd and Munkus Funkus are in the house! 🔥🤝

Dërty Bërd and Munkus Funkus first joined forces in July last year in what was truly a gig to remember. In the time since, both bands have been heavily involved with performing as well as recording yet to be released material. 💿

Come and experience two unique bands fusing funk, soul, jazz and more, each in their own way. This will be the second time the two bands have played alongside each other. If the first time is anything to go by, this one’s sure to go off!! 💃🎉

DËRTY BËRD - Dërty Bërd is a local 7-piece soulful, funky-reggae syndicate comprised of mellifluous vocalists, earthy-toned brass players and a rhythm section that thrives on a dance-floor atmosphere. Dërty Bërd borrows elements from pop, rock, funk, soul and jazz and weaves them into one, in the hopes of attaining a sound akin to a love-child of Fat Freddy’s Drop, Prince Fatty, Jorja Smith and heaps more. 🎸

MUNKUS FUNKUS - Munkus Funkus  Grounded in experimentation and hard-hitting grooves, Naarm (Melbourne) based Munkus Funkus create unique jazz-funk. Making use of a playful and dynamic compositional style, they take audiences on a journey charged with pleasure, wonder and chaos. 🪐

Be prepared for catchy melodies, spicy harmonies and unexpected twists. Sleazy basslines, soulful horn lines and jungle breakbeats. This is novel dance music played by musicians who are excited about performing it. With elements of improvisation and tunes that continue to grow and evolve, each gig is a new experience.
