The holygnü experience is a brand new project by Hong Yang, who is no stranger to Bar Oussou from his regular appearance as the keyboardist for Yusupha Ngum and the Affia Band, who recently finished their Sunday residency. 🙌

It's impossible to pin the music of holygnü down to a neat genre. "Progressive soul rock jazz folk fusion" or "Alternative bibim-pop" are a couple attempts. You’ll just have to come check them!! Yiuh!!! ❤️

THE HOLYGNÜ EXPERIENCE: 

The holygnü experience is a brand new project by Hong Yang, who is no stranger to Bar Oussou from his regular appearance as the keyboardist for Yusupha Ngum and the Affia Band, who recently finished their Sunday residency.

Hong's musical identity is as diverse as his cultural one - Korean by heritage, Kiwi by upbringing and Australian by nationality. Classically trained pianist, composer, singer, songwriter, film scorer and arranger/producer; keyboardist for numerous bands and artists in Melbourne spanning the genres of jazz, soul, fusion, funk, rock, R&B, reggae, latin, Brazilian and Afro-beat. 

Drawing on his eclectic experiences on the stage and in the studio, Hong founded holygnü as a creative outlet for his unique blend of evocative yet earnest lyricism encased in anthemic melodies, cathartic harmonies and hypnotic rhythms all tied together in masterful arrangements, which are bound to captivate the listeners' hearts while urging their feet onto the dance floor. 💃
