About the event
“The saxophone firm in his grasp, he cuts a towering figure, swaying back and forth in a mystical trance. One moment he is serenading the audience with sweet, sonorous, meditative tones, another moment he threads a rich tapestry of ornamentations, then he blows the house down with rapid fire, stream-of-consciousness sketches, shapes and guttural bellowing. Max König is a unique sound, sight and spirit to behold.”
Drawing inspiration from the giants of jazz and the great canon of jewish and middle eastern music, Max König and his ensemble aim to create a distinctive sound by combining ancient tradition with modern sounds and improvisation.
