About the event

Get  excited for a massive double Friday this 15th of December at Oussou -  MAX KÖNIG & THE KISMET PROJECT bring authentic Middle-Eastern songs,  sounds and flavours from 9PM til late! 🌏🎹

Turkish vocalist MS  ONUR KURT leads THE KISMET PROJECT, delivering traditional  Middle-Eastern and Arabic classics like "Lambeh Yakufteh" alongside  sultry new tunes like "Shish Kebab" - It always get a little hot! With a  spirited backing of Kanoun, accordion and drums, prepare for a journey!  🎤🪩

After two sets by Onur and the band, MAX KÖNIG steps up to  deliver new and traditional Arabic and Jewish music via the synthesiser,  saxophone, darbuka and drums! Simultaneously, König and his band,  steeped in the jazz tradition, embrace the spontaneity of  spur-of-the-moment improvisation and the unrestrained flow of the stream  of consciousness in a show that is not to be missed! 🙏🌀

Come  and experience these fantastic projects bringing some very important  music to Naarm/Melbourne this Friday 15th of December here at Oussou! ❤️

Onur  will bring a group of talented mixed humans and crossing the borders  with music and soul. Dynamic and inspiring melting pot of musical  flavours, drawing elements from the music of the Turkish region and  “Balkan” peninsula - one can hear the parallels between Middle Eastern,  Mediterranean and East European forms with Latin (Brazilian Choro),  American & French-Gypsy jazz inspired modal improvisations. 🍃

MAX  KÖNIG captures the essence of both spirited celebration and religious  devotion in his music. An accomplished composer, König paints vivid  musical landscapes, reminiscent of ancient synagogues, transformative  meditations and the soul-stirring rhythms of Arabic dabke.  Simultaneously, König and his band, steeped in the jazz tradition,  embrace the spontaneity of spur-of-the-moment improvisation and the  unrestrained flow of the stream of consciousness. König’s music evokes  his deep love and reverence for Jazz, Jewish and Arabic musical  legacies. 🙏

Catch you here for it - Get in early with tickets and don't miss out! ❤️
