🇳🇿Umar Zakaria is a recent arrival in the Melbourne scene. In 2018 he received NZ’s Tui Award for Best Jazz Artist for his debut album, Fearless Music. In 2024 alone he performed in headline acts at Tauranga and Nha Trang jazz festivals, presented original music at Singapore’s Jazz in July Festival and NZ’s Wellington Jazz Festival, and released his second album, Family Music. His first originals gig in Melbourne presents his signature Malay jazz style. 🇲🇾✨
