About the event
UNKNOWN MIRRORS unites vocals, Japanese koto, and recorder in a striking partnership born from years of treading parallel musical paths. Their original compositions and fearless improvisations create a sound world that is at once delicate, dynamic and unmistakably their own, drawing on contemporary classical, folk, alternative pop, traditional Japanese music and Baroque influences. They released their debut album Your Ten Is My Twelve in Japan in 2019, followed by Locked Away in Australia in 2024. Their performances have featured at Moers Festival Germany, Osaka World Expo, and Tokyo’s Shinjuku Pit Inn with the Australian Art Orchestra, alongside frequent appearances at festivals across Japan and Australia.
