Xpress Point

Xpress Point is a Melbourne-based musical project led by Matthew Hayes, known for his work with bands like ZFE*X. Xpress Point draws inspiration from boogie music, vaporwave, downtempo, balearic, and funk breaks, with a focus on the sounds of the Korg M1 and Yamaha DX7 synthesizers. The project features collaborations with artists such as Dreamcastmoe, Jitwam, and Ziggy Zeitgeist, and is known for its danceable, groove-oriented sound.

Born out of jam sessions and collaborations with artists such as Dreamcastmoe, Jitwam, Ziggy Zeitgeist, Finn Rees and Allysha Joy and an obsession with reclaiming the nostalgic sounds of the Korg M1 and Yamaha DX7, Xpress Point, which takes it’s name from a local surf break off the coast of Phillip Island, draws heavily from the boogie and new age tradition with a nod to vapourware, downtempo, balearic and funk breaks.
